hey guys here's 2 questions:

deal on 16x7 konig remembers very good condition with fairly new treads and spacers and longer lug bolt for 800u.s. plus shipping. what do you guys think? i guess when it's all said and done it'll be 1050 cdn on my car.

group buy on vwvortex.com under vw classifieds 4x100. new black konig remembers for 425. plus shipping for 100. all u.s. but smells kinda fishy. they go for like 650 on ebay. the first guy who says he's a konig dealer says that price isn't possible.

what do you guys think???

I've been doing that for years. 15" and 16". Steering response is down, but grip is up.

Mine didn't. Hydroplaning was a whole other story though...don't think I'll run 225's again.

Jay,

What would be the perfect offset for 16x9 wheels and 245/45/16 tires. 3-3.5 (possibly 4) deg. negative camber at the front, 2 deg. negative camber in the back?
Will roll fenders or get flares if needed.
Thank you.

You will definately need heavy rolling / flares for that setup, as it will poke. ET15 is what all the 16x9 boys run.

I know it's difficult to answer without the actual measurements, but roughly,
will that leave enough room for a possible future BBK?

Depends on spoke designe and how much dish the wheel has. I have never seen measurements of caliper clearance with 16x9's, but spacers could make it work if you start with a higher ET and/or less dish. The Rota's are perfect for BBK's because they have lots of room behind the spokes for brakes.

ET10 numerical maximum, and depending on the tires' girth maybe small spacers on the front. ET10 will let 16x9's slip by with a few mm clearance (ET15 hits the strut).

I would like to avoid spacers, the wheels will be custom made to pretty much any spec. Maybe different offsets for front and rear. Oh, and eventually the tire will be RA-1.

Staggered offsets would be a bad decision, you're going to need to rotate.

Get ET5 or even ET0, call it a day. If you're using flares anyways, be safe.
