Not a chance. Even a 215/40/17 would catch the fender occasionally.

Track use fitment question
I am sure that 225/50/15 would fit on a 15x7, 27 offset rim, but I always had 205 tires. Would 225 be safe for track use?
Thanks.

LOL, that makes it a lot worse too. 225 R-comps will run at least as wide at 245 street tires.

Yes, this is an extremely common setup (225/50/15 on 15x7 ET27 Kosei K1's, to be exact).
Some 225's (namely R-compounds) will require a small spacer up front to clear the strut. 3-5mm.

You are right, these are the wheels
I was talking about Toyo T1 R, would I still need spacers?

No spacers for 225 T1-R's.

If I install borbet 16x9's et15 what kind of spacer will I need to use? I'd REALLY like to go without if at all possible. Also for tire selection, what size would you guys suggest?

You'll need at least a 5mm hubcentric spacer up front to clear the struts, no spacers in the rear but I used 10mm's to even out the stance, tires are
215/40/16's but you can go 215/45/16's which fill out the fenders a bit more if you aren't low enough.

What Ed said, although you may even get away with cheap 3mm spacers up front.
Or, you could throw a small dent in the front strut. I don't really recommend that though.

No dents or P.O.S "spacers" will be used. I turned out a set and two spairs while visiting my old high school shop at the end of last year. I'm not a fan of spending 1600 on wheels that are properly balanced to cheap out on mounting them and have em shake like a 40 year old cougars vibrator on a saturday night
