A guy on R3V is, with 17x8.5" wheels. No rubbing, unrolled 88+ fenders.
With ET25 wheels and those tires you'd be just peachy. They'll fit on the front too, if you keep the wheel width 8.5" or under.

My R3V search there just turned up some "what if" threads - will look again...
I know I'll get less rubbing than my current setup - 235/40/17 on an 8" rim at et20. I just don't know if the .3" extra suspension travel will eliminate the rubbing since the outer tire will basically be exactly where my current tire is.

And also, don't ever use 8mm spacers, since they are too thin to have hubcentric lips (unless they have oversized bores on the wheel side). They take all of the load off the hub, and only the lugs/bolts will be supporting the car. Even if you don't get vibrations, it's a serious safety issue.

Thanks Mystikal. Very good to know about the 8mm spacers too. I guess that's why they are so cheap.

Ronal is on short supply. Your best bet is to call around and see what's up.

The only place that stocks them in the GTA is Tireworks in Mississauga. I had planned to buy a set from them years ago, but they pissed me off far beyond forgiveness.
In the Fall of 2004, they were $190/ea. This seemed pretty fair, Ronal USA was asking $139USD for them at the time.
A few months later, they were suddenly $252/ea. Well, okay, I guess everyone needs to make a few dollars (even though Ronal's pricing didn't budge).
Then, in spring, they were $314/ea. Ronal USA was selling them for $500USD for a set of 4. Due to an exclusive distrubution deal, Ronal refused to ship them to me in Canada, and insisted I buy them from Tireworks. When I asked why their price is almost double, Gary at Ronal basically said "tough luck".
Anyways, if you want them now you're pretty much stuck. The orders Ronal took for the LS' back in June didn't arrive until like November, and their supply is always screwed up. I saw a set with good tires sit in the classifieds on R3V for weeks, the guy only wanted $700. Keep an eye out for deals like that, and jump on them.

Guys, if i'm thinking of lowering the car(probably HR or eibach)then buying 16"wheels, what dimensions am i looking at best ie 16*7or16*7.5 without having to add any spacers or camber plates or what not????
Would tires of 205/50/16 with rim et 35mm be ideal fit?????

Hey need some help
was wondering if it'd be ok if i use 205/55/16 on my e30? (1.5 drop allaround)
i realize that the perfect size for 205 is 205/50, so what disadvantages will i experience?
Thanks
Alex

It's a full inch bigger than stock (tire diameter), so you may get some rubbing on the fender liner, however it's a relatively narrow tire, so with the right offset (around 25) you should be fine. Why are you going with these tires though?

Will this size work?
17x8 ET22 (ET40 + 18mm spacer) w/ 215/40/17 on an very low 1991 318is?
Also, what about...
16x8 ET23 w/225/45/16 on an very low 1991 318is?
Trying to work through some new shoe ideas as I plan to swap over the e30 M3 hubs and brakes.
