idle problems

I am in need of help, I have a 1987 bmw 325e that was parked up for about a year. Before parking it everything was running real smooth, however since I started back driving it, the idling seemed to be too low. So I adjusted the idle control in the engine by raising it about 500rpm's , it still fluctuated a bit but nothing serious. Eventualy the timing went back to normal so I had to readjust the idle controll once more by lowering it back 500rpm's. Everything was cool until a couple of days later. Now the rpm's fluctuate by at least 1000-1500rpm's to the point where the car stalls. This doesnt happen all the time but it does come and go every time I drive the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Forgive my spelling please.

My guess would be a faulty idle control. Anyone else wanna take a shot at this?

i think i got the same problem the car sat at this guys house for a month and sat in my garage for a month beging fixed. when i start it rev up and down it's not a constante idle.
