I have a friend that says there is a way to beat theft detectors in stores (those metal detector things). He said something about lining a bag with some kind of material. Now isnt he stupid or what? you guys here about this?

I've heard that too, actually my friend said he use to do that. Also I heard bestbuy's metal detectars dont go off unless the product is $50 or more.

the only thing that makes the detectors go off is a specially magnetized metal strip.. Its very easy to mask that I would assume.

I am sure his wanting to know is for curiousity reasons only.
Tom, don't take my word as gold, it is just what I have seen/heard on certain detectors.

haha tin foil dosnt work you have to have nothing less then lead to bypass them, and i work at bestbuy it goes off for a $2 item just the same as it would for a $50 item and the store is full of hidden cameras so its damn near impossible to not get caught

ACtually FOIL does work, obviously you wont be stealing huge items that the camera will detect...
you can also use a chips bag..if you wanna stteal something smaller, put it inside the chips bag ..(no one will see) and you walk out easily..without any suspicion.
and no i do not do this
