Sirex, basing a theory on behalf of someone running some swank business and doing a comparision which leads to the conclusion that peope limited with a highschool education that open anytype of business are limited to a teachers salary is awkward.. LOL.

Sirex, you are right about knowing how to talk, crunch the numbers and learning a foundation. but i ASSURE YOU.. i have worked @ office jobs and I'v had more 'Common SENSE, and ability then the average UNIVERSITY GRAD..." you just can't teach someones a businessmans personality or DRIVE... its not in everyone.

We all keep talking business, business.. easily said then done.. Slammed3Series: What kind of business are you going into?? Services/Products, etc..

It all depends on what business you get into, is the service or product a want or need? EX: establishing an accounting firm/biz (EVERYBODY needs an accountant!!)rather then a Massage shop?..(Lux).. 80% of restaurant businesses fail btw... If the product/service is GOOD aslong as there is good quality/marketing -advertising of the product it do fine after a few years...just gotta get yourself out there.. thats the hardest part.

btw:
My father knew many Professors from York, McMaster and they usually led average lives w/dodge caravans and sub 200,000$ homes.. nothing special.. always complained they were broke...

Just thought id add my 2 cents, then again.. im just some dUm H1gh sch00l dr0p0ut..

That about sums it up yea. I know it's hard to get into that's why I want to start it as an on the side thing. If it takes off and I make enough money with it then I'll do it full time.
No matter what I do it'll be something I enjoy, that's all that matters to me.

okay my 2 cents, stay the **** away from the skilled trades, the moneys great but its only going to be around for another 10 years, china/japan are cornering the market very well. ask anyone theres mold/die shops going under every month, which means engineers/designers/machinists, blah blah blah will be fighting over the jobs that will remain.

my opinion.... GET A GOVERNMENT JOB, cop/firefighter/medic/city worker/ whatever, those jobs will never disapear, benifits and pension are top notch.

the disgruntled cnc machinist

Cool,

I just actually purchased a pretty nice chunk of land; about 10 acres in the Burlington area. its just 5 minutes away from the city and it stretches 400m along the road by 200m (estimate..)

Future development there for sure!!! I just now need someone to invest in building with me and get the lot split into 5 (for 5 homes..) which i know wont happen anytime soon! but im aiming for 2 homes for now... once i get the first one built...

200k investment, sell home for 500-600

Ahmen to that..

You know, people are funny.. they work fulltime, get caught up in everything and have no time for themselves OR family...

They get their loans, their CC's , purchase their fancy cars, their homes.. to only make themselves SLAVES of their materialistic values...

That reminds me, i better sell that pound of weed by the end of this week before my $890 Honda payment comes.. *jk*

For some school is the way to go , others its not. I wasted 3 years in school for international business, then I couldnt find a job, so I started detailing cars, sure my freinds were breaking balls all the time but hey I enjoyed doing it and I was making more money in a week then these guys were making in 2 weeks, then I was in a head on collision and guess what - I was ****ed , I couldnt detail cars , whatever I learned in school I forgot. So now I"m still detailing but not as much and I'm doing something I should have done from the start. I,m working with my old man doing real estate development. And in response to m3polack I got a perfect example. Freind of one day decides **** it i'm too good to be driving a civic I want a 330 , he goes to the dealership takes a look at a 330 02 and wants it BAD. So he trades in his 2001 civic coupe gets like $8000 for it puts down another $2000, so know his payments on the car are (leased) $700 insurance another $600 a month. So now hes the big shooter talking shit thinking hes gonna get laid because he drives a BMW and what not. A year and a half after he's broke from the car , buying expensive clothes and all that shit ,goes back to the dealership says he wants outta his lease, long story short he gave the car back but had to pay BMW for early return. Now hes driving a 1989 honda civic

yea i know what u mean Al about being lucky to have a job.
Our City (Windsor) is supposed to be the greatest city for jobs for skilled trades and anything automotive.. we have the Big3 and all their tier 1,2,3 suppliers and also all the tool and die and mold making shops u can have. But for some damn reason it seems no one in this city will give a half ass effort to give new ppl chances or even try to compete with China/Mexico with their wages but instead we have way overpaid CAW union workers who do jack all. And trust me i know they do jack all cuz i am the one who sees this all the time..

Sit there read a paper, talk, eat, w/e the case maybe and then go complain that 25/hour or more for what they do with full benefits is not enough... The North american industry is digging its own grave with such shit.

Either way hopefully i get where i wanna be and make more money so i can open a business and be done with that side of things for good.

Ever seen Deuce Bigalow? Well the male escort industry is not quite like that! If anything its a lot more glamourous than that - you get paid to go on dates with beautiful women . lol

I usually bank about $1000/night depending on the client. I eat in fine restaurants, drive flashy cars, and meet new people!

its a rewarding job but no benefits in the end, and you have to look good in a tux
