Fixing Leather?

I just got my car out of the shop, had the timing belt etc, replaced.

I have 2 small tears on both far sides of each seat, and my mechanic told me he knows a guy who takes care of that for like 40 a side, he said he uses an epoxy and fills in the holes and matches it to the leather, have u guys ever heard of this?

He siad he does it to his cars he sells, all upper class vehicles, customers can't tell the difference he says.
