89 325is vs 04 VW GTI 20th 1.8T

I raced my buddy John in his 20th anniversary Golf GTI 1.8T from 60 to 100, and from a light. He beat me both times, from the rolling start he beat me by about 3 car lengths. I'll be installing a chip I have though, so I wonder if I'll be even with him then...

Actually, it's a big joke on VWvortex. It goes something like this:
1. Newb buys 1.8T because it has a turbo. Turbos are good, right?
2. Newb chips his/her 1.8T.
3. Newb thinks he/she can take over the world with 215hp/247lb-ft.
4. The 1.8T can never lose.

I'd do it, but it looks like you're in Massachutesetts and I'm in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Nah, I'm in Scarborough, Ontario. A suburb of toronto. I ran a 1990 325i and won by about 1 car, and I was pretty much even with a chipped 325is.
My car ran 15.6@89mph with a bad launch(2.4 60')
