I think he let of once he noticed that he had no chance.
That's why I got 1 or 2 bus lenghts on him.
I believe he was modified somewhat. Carbon hood and some smaller wing on the back usually means he is trying to save weight also the “Whale” wing on the back slows them down at higher speeds. The car did sound different then stock SRT4’s

stock... i think 540i vs. stock srt-4 would break down to drivers race as it is just .2-3 off in 1/4 mile with professional drivers..

sorry i shoulda used edit, but apparently the car feels really good at those speeds?? He had a couple ppl in the car and they all sad the same kind of thing.

I've done over 260 km/h (indicated) in my Golf while racing an SLK32 AMG in the middle of nowhere on the 401. I don't actually know how fast I was going because that's as high as the speedometer on my car goes. I think I need a 6th gear and an R32 instrument cluster.

its all about high speed stability, and that all has to do with suspension not the design of the car. (looks or shape etc) ride hieght obviously is a big factor..
when i originally got my car, i took it to 180kph, the thing felt light and not capable of doing anymore , not because of the power only but because if it did go faster i`d get blown off the road.
Then i got suspension, basically a cup kit and i could do 230ish b4 my front end felt a little weird again.
now i have coilovers and the car would probably be stable up to 300kph at least.
So even tho yeah i`d say 270kph in a neon at those speeds if the suspension is stock i`d be pretty scared but with a set of springs and shocks im pretty sure that id be ok with it
