Help Starting Cranking ova too long?

Hey guys,

I have a 2002 325 xi, i took it to the dealer 3 times already for the same problem. When i try to start sometimes it takes a long time for it to turn over, will have to hold the key for like 6 secs sometimes, then the odd time it will just start.. When the engine is warm it starts automatically.
Dealer told me they fixed it 3 times same problem..dats bmw of mississauga!
Could it be the gas i use? should i only use 91 and above.

I don't understand what could be the problem. They said they put in new software in the computer and it should be fixed..Foreman looked at it still nothing. What should i do? i hate starting my car around groups of people its so embarrasing..I drive a bEEEma...ya know..

peace

It's hard to say.
I would however keep talking to BMW Mississauga and have them fix the problem and not pay them untill they do.

Jeez...this sucks...good luck. Some things to verify correct operation on...1) Idle Control Valve 2) Ignition spark 3) this could be it...Fuel Pump Relay, check for power out of it...if there isn't any, then check the main relay. 4) Verify Fuel Pump function...power to it...make sure the filter isn't clogged...have them check the flow and pressure from the pump. You could have a faulty Motronic Control unit. Any improper Boost starting(cables from another car) could have zapped a connection in your OBC control module...when it's warm(and circuits are expanded a bit) the connections will be better and it will start. I feel for ya bro...hope it works out for ya.
