Souped Up Civic vs. 97 E36 328i

I dunno what it is in my city but seems every civic thinks they can race..

So heres the story.. sitting at a light (cars all clean from a wash in the morning)... Civic SIR pulls up, 2k1 civic with neons, rims, lowered, CAI, Headers, full exhaust, and Ice.. its a friend of a friends car.... so i didnt even know he wanted to go till at the last minute i hear a rev from his car...

So i dont even have time to drop it so i go what the hell.. BMW will eat this POS import. so with my 3.38LSD, OBD1 intake mani, M3 camshafts, and newly installed M roadster (ASC+T delete) boot and Catback exhaust.. i actually get to feel the pull of this car... we both take off.. he gets a great launch but still doesnt pull away, by the time he chirps his tires in 2nd gear i beat him by 5 cars lol..... i hope the SIR isnt that slow cuz if so what an insult to hondas.

You want to talk about wasting money on TV's, I saw someone who attached a portable DVD player to their sunvisor. They had all kinds of cords coming down from it. G-H-E-T-T-O!

I live behind the D mall .. there is no point of racing in an automatic .. sigh .. plus .. the only performance mod i have is an gruppe M replica CAI .. which doesn't gain a lot of HP .. so u will walk me for sure ..hehe

^^^ haha exactly!!

on another note, i raced a 323i the other day.... it was near my work which is kinda in the country and no cars were in sight. keep in mind he has a 2001 with 90,000kms and i have a 1992 with 293,000kms on original engine and tranny and full tank of gas. no mods to my car at all! other than lowered with rims.

off the line we took off at the exact same time and i was about half car length a head of him.... at about 70km/h he was with me bumper to bumper... at 140 i was 1 car length ahead of him and shut down after that. he was pissed off after that lol but in the end its still a BMW.

oh and i dont have the usual 4 banger engine. its a Inline 5 motor with 180hp/178tq.

Vigor

anything interesting done to the 2.5L inline 5? I was always a fan of that car. Too bad the concept of a 5 cylinder didn't do too well in the North American market.

Actually they aren't pieces of shit, they are neat little 4-bangers, reliable, economical, and fun to mod, and wont break down on you causing expensive repairs like a BMW. The B16 is a great motor btw.

I have a friend with a 99 Civic coupe w/JDM H22 (220hp) I/E/H/cams/etc.. motor if you'd want to get shown up.

and yeah.. lots of ricers out there with civics wanting to raise in their stock D16 100hp fury motors... just ignore them

nothing is done to the motor I really want to boost it but I dont think anyone has ever boosted this engine before so working on it would be a pain.

with 5-8psi of boost, im guessing it would be pushing 250hp if not more and about 240tq again if not more.
