Raced an E30

I was driving my 1991 Civic Hatch Oakville on third line around 1:00 am last night and I saw two young kids in an E30 2 door, I passed them and then at the next light I could see them edging up to the light and checking out my car and I knew they wanted to go so I brought the revs up just a little bit and when the light went green we both hammered it, the little E30 stood no chance but I think they thought it did because they figured it was just a regular old Civic.

The only E30 that is actually faster than your setup would be a 325i/iS, or M3. A whole lot of them out there are pretty slow.

A stock 325i(s):

M20
2.5L
168 hp at 5,800 rpm
164 foot-pounds of torque at 4,300

BTW BMW's are not meant for drag racing.

Come on dude! You know that those things were made for the track......especially with all that torque going to the front wheels!

BTW this always makes me laugh when I see this on a T-shirt or bumper sticker -

"My lugnuts require more Torque then your honda Makes!"

He has an Integra motor in there with about 130horsepower.... and the civic is way lighter.

Why not race him and see for yourself?

I agree, its not a strip car, no civic is. They can be made into very decent auto X cars however and be very competitive at it.

You know somedays I wonder why I have any respect for bmw owners when the majority of them are just like VW owners, they only respect the brand they drive. I have respect for any nice car out there and I would love to have a bimmer someday, but as I am young and cant afford to buy my dream car I opted to build it out of a car that was decent and affordable.

^^^^ Agreed 100%! I also respect any nice or fun car out there, and civics can be a blast to drive. Its really funny when people who drive 20 year old bmw's suddenly think they are king shit because they have a bmw. Little do they know the joke is on them
