Actually, I think most people here love BMWs. That's probably why they signed up in the first place. One of my all time favourite cars is the E46 M3 - that's why I race them all the time. (Don't ask.  )

Exactly... Like i said earlier... BMW's are my favorite cars... perfect balance of sport/luxury/performance etc...
If I were faced with a choice of buying a 318 or a 2.0LGL Golf/Jetta... i'd take the 318...
But comparies a VR6 Glx ... to a 318 is redicules.

This is getting out of hand.
Max318i Chill bud, and stop all that swearing.
Comparing the BMW to VW now that's a joke.
VW makes some nice rides, however they are in a different categories all together.
I never see and Magazine Editor compare GTI to the M3 past or present.

no ones comapring VW to BMW. why should they? Thyre competing in different markets, for the most part, (excpt Tourag, Pheaton, W8 Passat, upcoming concept R...) dam, thats not so little.
Anywho, the thing here is that a gen 4 GTi with aftermarket mods, can be compared/ raced with an e36 M3. And to say that " you shouldnt even try because the M3 used to cost more" is just ridiculous. And of course u havnt seen any magazines compare a GTi to an M3. they dont compare new cars to old cars. Thats obvious.
