Hemi bows down

So I was cruising up Hwy 48 through Markham today, enjoying the nice weather. Traffic is slow as usual, with many stoplights, and a single lane of traffic. I see a 300M in my mirror, he is trying to pass the cars on the right in between the parallel parked car spaces. I pull up to a red light, and he is right beside me. Across the intersection, there is about 150M before the next parked car. He is inching up (sure sign right??) So as the crossways light turns red, I too inch up to let the driver know that he'd better be ready. Traction - Off...Light turns green, I roll ahead slowly and wait to make sure, but he backs down and let's me go...I tromp on the pedal anyway and the tires break loose... Later, he passes me anyway and I check to see if it's only a V6 - Say's HEMI on the back.........That's right Biatch!!!! Even a Hemi fears the 540!!

Good Point. Actually, I don't race in traffic. Besides the parked car and the stoplight, there was nothing in front of us.

I am no angel, but i NEVER race in traffic either! Still, watch out, at least for now, these warm days drive kids out and people, so you never know what can happen.

Or maybe he was grown up and mature enough to realize that engaging in a drag race on a public road for something as insignificant as getting ahead of another car is asinine....???...

And any time you'd like to take on a Hemi, I'll gladly oblige....

Im not trying to bad mouth anyone with a Hemi but i think that the new isnt what it should be, what i mean by that is the old hemi had what 426hp and this one is under 400. I think the Hemi should have been up with the old one , and i know there wasnt any cats or anyhting like that back then but if your gonna bring back a egine that was competive right off the lot in the strip, i think at least bring the torque and hp up to really bring the life back in to the famous HEMI's.

Little more power?

340 HP, 390 ft. lbs. torque?

Are you aware that this engine puts out more torque than the M5, new and old? Remember torque?
And with MDS on the highway gets high 20 mpg? Try that with the old Hemi.....

And if that's not enough, look up the SRT-8 w/ the 6.1L Hemi.
420+ HP/torque....so is that still not enough.....
