VW Golf GTI VR6 vs. M Coupe
who would win the 1/4? last time i had a runin with a GTI he pull 2 cars on me. i had a passenger were pushing 440lbs lol and last week I pulled around 3 to 4 cars on a GTI in the highway. He was pretty much stuck to my bumper till 4th gear when I see him fade from the rear view mirror
i know the VR6 has 200HP but what is the realistic stats for those quick little suckers.. Maybe the other guy had a chip or something

Are you sure it wasn't a R32? These suckers are the best car VW ever made: AWD 3.2L, 241 hp, 236 tq and 157 mph. I am a new member and a first time BMW owner. I just bought a 525i with a six and 98k on the clock. Anyway, my other car (for racing) is a R32. It is the best VW ever...with just a GIAC flash and a CAI, I have gotten her down to 13.7 in the 1/4 and 5.2 to 60. What kind of times do the M Coupe get? Long story short beware the .:R32.

It maybe a 1.8T with mods.. and since he have no passenger and I have one thats probably why he got me by 2 cars the first time.. the second time im alone and i pulled probably 3-4 cars from 4th to 5th gear he probably dropped to 3rd since i heard his engine roar heh.

If it was a vr6, it most likely was sprayed or had a SC or turbo.

I think the VR6 had something, mind you, the VR6 engine develops a lot of of power in the higher end..............but your car would spank it still.........
He probably had a little suprise under the hood

1.8t is trash compared to ur coupe. VR6's however might be challengin.. although urs is an M coupe... that roof though is worse then the cabrio. so i dont know how much xtra that weighs..the golf's a fast sucker but only when u tune em up.. a stock VR6.. i doubt he can do damadge to u.
cheers

VR6's don't make a lot of top end power, they die off after 6000rpm or so, unless they have headwork and cams, and even then they still make peak power around 6000rpm.

The 1.8t has a lot of potential to be fast, I've had my ass handed to me more then once with modded 1.8t GTI's. Stock both the 1.8t and the vr6 are quick, but not fast by any means though. Then again neither is a 325 or a 328.
