Speakers & Deck Question

Hey all,

I traded my car in for a '99 540i last week and was wondering if it's possible to use some (or all) of my speakers, amp & sub in this car...
I have 2 5 1/4s, 2 tweeds, 2 6X9s, 6-channel amp (all Clarion stuff) and Kenwood's 2 12" sub box.
Also, is it possible to install the aftermarket deck to replace the stock tape player? (also have a 6-cd changer in the trunk).
Your help's appreciated.

you can installed all that, but the 6x9's might have to go on the rear window ledge, as for a aftermarket deck, it can be installed but you might have to remove the OBC & tape player, my friend Derrick who is also on this board has a 540 with a Clarion deck, but he had to remove the OBC & tape to get it to fit

i kinda like the OBC...

would the sound be half-decent if i ran the amp, subs, speakers off the stock deck?!

No you need a in line adapter and kill sound quality so on. You need 4 sets of 5.25 for the setup 12 are ok too ever thing eles is ok too..........

do not use stock deck.....ew....grab an alpine hed unit

i used an in line converter once b/c i could afford anyting else...i guess it does the job....that car comes with an powerful stock deck anyhow so it shud be ok....the only thing is that with an aftermarket deck, you can give a bigger pre-out voltage being sent to your amp via your rca's , thus equaling more juice n bass...
