Question about E36 M3/4

Well this m3/4 i had spotted in the trader...

Year: 1998
240 horsepower, fully loaded, black on black, Xenon headlight package, 5 spd., runs beautiful, cheapest in the book. 120,000 km. $16,000.

is kind of boggling me because i just read..
" The M3 sedan went out of production in 1997, while the coupe and convertible models were available until 1999."

is this true?

I thought the M3 sedan was from 97-98/99 if anything. I know they made them in 98 because my father had a 98 cosmos black M3 4 door. Hope this helps.

alpine,

I saw that car too on the trader.... seems really cheap if it is ok condition, it wouldnt be a bad buy pending no accidents of course.

4 doors were made till a little over 98.5 i think.

That car looks fishy. If you're gonna buy it, spend an extra couple hundred to get it checked. On the other hand, if it's straight and clean then that means my car is worth absolutely nothing now

devil: yeah it does look like it, but maybe could be the camera angle? and if it is, thats a minor thing to replace.

daydream: Thanks, if the car is in ok condition, i think its a steal... makes all other m3's in the trader look like a joke...however i need to find a buyer first for the e46..

r_jay: lol, what can you do..

but on the other hand, looking at the e30 m3, year 89, 20k!!

They never came with clears, with the exception of european cars which I don't know much about. I know all E36's in North America came with ambers all around.

Sedan were only available as 97 and 98 models in North America
Coupes 95-99 USA (94 and 97-99 Canada)
Convertibles 99only (never sold in Canada)

alpwhite, if that car is missing a molding(looks like it) why wouldn't just install it to give it a better look? Selling a car with missing parts is hard, it just means owner didn't take care of it.
Also you should always remember the saying, "If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't".

And yes 98323IS is right, e36 never came with clears coners or sidemarkers.
