Osram is the parent company of Sylvania.
The Sylvania Silverstars have a blue coating that is then coated in silver to produce HID-esque blue tinged light. This of course hurts performance, and also causes a hotter bulb.
The Osram Silverstars are functionally the same except they have a completely clear lens. No blue tinge, just pure bright white. They are rated as 50% brighter than typical bulbs. These are also not sold in North America, they are only available in E-code bulb types (H1, H4, etc.).
