Spelling mistake on the engine sizes too. The 325i doens't have a 3.0L engine.

So the 325i has a detuned 3.0L engine then??? So who wouldn't but the 325i and get 330i power out of it.

Several reasons:

1) Price difference
2) People don't need the extra power

It isn't always about bhp man.

Good find on the brochure, it's growing on me too.

I've even looked into it more, so far all indications point to 3L engines in both the 325i and the 330i's. Since bore and stroke are the same it must be the 3 step intake manifold which makes all the difference (and software too).

Costwise it only makes sense to have one block, especially since all the effort which went into designing the all magnesium blocks (I remembering reading that the magnesium blocks save about 20 lbs compared to the old ones).

Also read that there will be a 320i good for 110kw, or about 130 hp. Looks like there will be a few deisel options too.
