tire question

i have 225/45/17 in th efront and 245/40/17 in the rear on stock M3 rims. the profiles match perfect. if i go 215/45/17 in the front and 235/40/17 in the rear. would the profiles be the same, but a touch thinner and the width thinner? i know everyone wants to go wide, but i dont really like the bulky tire look. has anyone done it? just wanna know if the profiles will match from the front to back?

Plug in your sizes. They key size to check is DIAMETER.
First, you want to stick as close as possible to the stock size of 24.7" - 25.0"
Second, you want your front and rear sizes to be as close as possible so that ASC/DSC is not thrown off.

I think it depends on the tire you run too. When I was rockin 17's and had Khumo tires, they looked skinny as hell compared to my friend who had the same size rims but was running Dunlops.
