Installation Q

i want to install my alpine ivad901 and the kca-420i (ipod adapter) into my 2001 540i w/ dsp. all these things are in my 84 325e and need to be transferred over. they audio shop is asking ~ $300 and if i want to try the steering wheel control adapter, that's another $120 but no guarantee it would work.

they also told me that if i want to include my subs, i would need to purchase 4 crossovers and the grand total would be $800. do either of these quotes sounds right or should i try to work them down some more?

thanks for any help that any of you can offer, i want to install these things by the week's end, but i'm just not sure.

4 crossovers....maybe if youre a pro...a nice unit to obtain though

but, what did they say you need 4 crossovers for?

1-hi's
2-mid's
3-lows

for a car that is still mint

whats the 4th one for? mid-hi's? mid-low's?
i think thats alil too much

or if ur deck is hi tech, which most em em ae now a days......they have built in eq's for those frequencys. that can save you some dough.

u cant use your original amp with the ivad 901. so if u want to use your ivad 901 amp , u could with some passive x-overs, but it mite not sound as good as ure bmw amp. best bet is to get a 4 or 5 or 6 channel amp, and if u do, it will sound very good with your tv, AS LONG AS these guys know what they are doing...
