bought new system

Yesterday I picked up my stereo for my car that I had been wanting forever.

I will probally do the install myself, with some help of course. It is going into my E28 that has gone through full body/paint job this winter.

Now to the good stuff...

SUB: JL 12w6V2 in box
AMP: JL 500/1
AMP: JL 300/4
COMPONENTS: MB Quart Q line - 5 1/4
COMPONENTS: MB Quart Q line - 6 1/2
HEAD UNIT: Alpine 9835

what do you think?

Only weak points I see is the 5.25's up front (do 6.5's all around) and the Alpine 9835 HU

I guess i never really thought about putting the 6.5'' all around. Do you think that the 5.25's cant handle it? or just preferance?

The bill sitting infront of me reads $3780 w/ tax. I got everything from Auto Sound Design. I had got quotes in the summer for everything and it was just over $4000 w/o taxes, so waiting that extra few months saved me a bit of dough.

There's a fairly noticeable difference in midbass production between 6.5's and 5.25's. If you had already installed them it wouldn't be worth it, but since you have the chance you may as well get the larger drivers.

you go with a 4" in the rear and run it at 150hz at 0 on the gain and 6.5 at 90hz at 9 o'clock on the gain...........

OK some 411 onthe amps for you JL300x4 is 75w@8 or 2ohm and JL500x1 is 500w@8 or 2ohm....you have the power you need...

Well Diamond Tan at ASD is a liar... When i was there with my dad we got all the stuff. And we even looked at the speakers but didnt read the damn box. He sold me Discus line (bottom line) MB Quarts instead of the Q line (top line). I Called him back, and now he said he never said anything about Q line blah blah. and if I want the Q line they are $1000( instead of $345 what I paid for these). So now i am debating whether to return these Discus speakers and get something else, or should I just keep them. Stupid Stupid mistake by me by not looking.
