Nice in Standard! I think it is about $1000 to high.

For comparison, out of T.O. of course, I just bought in October a 1990 BMW 535i (auto however), certified and e-tested for $5300 with 170,000km. I had some minor mechanical to do right away so spent another $600 up front to get everything perfect. Body and interior were good!

So really, I think that $6G for a perfect 89-90 535i, is about right.

you need to check some critical areas when you are checking a 535i. Like headgasket, overheating and front end suspension parts.
The subframe bushings should be inspected also.
Engine leaks and transmission leaks, and all the maintenance that should have been done has to be checked.

Don't forget the rust. First place to rust is the bottom of the doors.

True botom of the doors, near the gas cap and gas door and bottom of the fenders under the car.

Ive got a 1990 e34 535i. I love it. I seriously dont think you can go wrong with a good 5 series.
