On Board Comp Problem

Yesterday i was driving and i check the temp on my on board comp. then i clicked the "check" button to clear the display. and i hear a little noise. next thing i know my "check" button is jammed. i guess behind it, the spring or something is messed and it won't go back to the normal position. is there anyway i can fix this? the buttons are exactly the same as the radio station buttons. i wouldn't care much, but since it's the "check" button, if i check anything on my on board comp, i can't clear it off the display.

the check light goes away. the thing is if i click on to see the temperature. that won't go away cause i can't hit check to clear it. so i have to wait til i turn the car off. which sucks.

i agree with koncise. thanks for the info sickfinga, but i think i'd mess it up more if i tried to fix it that way. i wouldn't even care, it's just that it's my "check" button. does anyone know of any other way. can i pop out the button somehow?

OBC fix

Nice find / link Vlad.

Don't be afraid guys. I've had my OBC out and opened up a couple of times. Just don't 'force' anything too much. If you're pushing/pulling too much, then try something else or use a different tool.

Good luck.

I open these things up all the time... I have around 10 of them now, and enough parts to do rebuilds. how many buttons if your OBC?

btw.. the plastic piece broke, needs to be glued with a rubber glue for best results... (i.e. goop).
