If you have a high hp car, and you want some longer gearing a 2.93 LSD is alright. if thats too long, a 3.25 is a nice compromise. I just happen to have a 2.93 sitting in my garage too if you want it.

LSD, PM me with what you think is reasonable, and I will tell you if it was what I was thinking . The only thing is you would have to reuse the back casing (where the bushing is) off your current diff and put it onto this one, because I had to use the casing on my new one when I swapped it out. It currently has one off a 5 series, so the mounting bracket at the back is different, but the diff itself is in good working order.

in case one of you is interested in a trade.

I am looking for a 3:73 LS.
I have a 2:93 LS on my car now.

Hi Klaus, how's it going? Nice weather, eh!

I don't think he'd be interested in a trade, but The Sly may have an extra 3:73 LSD. And he's local. I'm not sure if he still wants to sell it but it doesn't hurt to try. Your best bet is to PM him.

3.73 will pull about 190 km/h (give or take 5 km/h) in 4th gear down the back straight at Mosport in an E30 325is. That is pretty much at redline.
Any shorter than this ratio would be better for racing... I wouldn't go any shorter for a street car.

Thats interesting, I have the M50 motor in mine and a 2:93 lsd and I am usually at 190km/h at the limit of 4th gear at the end of the backstraight.

I want to change mine to a 3:73 because I am doing more AutoX now.

Hi Al, thanks for the info.
I am trying to stay warm. I get through the winter with competing at the Ice-dice events. This is the best training for the Summer AutoX.

Klaus
