but if ppl know something like this is coming... obviously they're standing taping/looking at it....Why don't they run as far back as they can.. instead you see little groups of ppl standing around starying at the huge freakin wave about to hit them, then in the last second they're panicing and making a run for it,

It doesnt look that big rite until its too late! Most ppl just think its a lil bigger wave than all the others. IN any case, its not so much its size as it is the speed of the thing. Thats wat causes most of the damage!!

you also got to understand that in that part of asia they don't have a early warning system because they don't have the technology for that kind of situation, most people are just living out their day & this tsunami comes & takes them away

Run? How much ground are you going to cover? You're still going to get hit. I love swimming in the ocean, I've swam in some medium sized waves (3-4m high), when they hit you you're screwed if you're not expecting it. You have no idea how much force water has. I've had my friend break his arm in the water from nothing other then having a wave crash on him when he wasn't expecting it.

I can't even imagine getting hit by a huge thick wave moving at speed.

Energy from the quake creates the initial wave, which splits into two...one wave moves out into the ocean while the other heads toward the shore. Most tsunamis do not create giant breaking waves on shore. Instead, they generate very fast and strong tides that make sea level rise quickly.

Hi !

Many Swedes are missing ,,, in there ,,, 1.500 are missing !
Ond offcourse all other 80.000 dead people !

They talked about 95 dead and some hurt , From the beginning !
But it have been so Big Since then ,,,,,

Many Children would be victim of this dicaster ....
And many Familys are forever ,,, without theire Love ones !

It Hurts to see the Familys searching for kids .....

I would pray for them !

but yeah, if you have absolutely no idea then I can see ...

there are places down in that area where there are miles of flat land at sea level. These areas are covered. The only chance you have of surviving is picking a strong building and staying in there. Problem is, there are few buildings in that area of the world that can withstand a tsunami.
