Just bought an X5

Went to the dealership today with my dad to look at an X5 for my mom's next car and possibly order one since her lease is up in April. However since they had a special lease rate going and had excatly what we wanted right on the show room floor we bought it. Goodbye E39 530i, hello X5 3.0 I lost the argument on getting the 4.4 V8, but its still a nice ride.

Specs are:
2005 X5 3.0
Black Saphire Exterior
Beige Leather Interior
Panorama Sunroof
Adaptive Headlights
Activity Package
Sport Package
Premium Package
aluminum Running Boards
Ski Bag
Headlamp Washers
Park Distance Control
Privacy Glass
Self Levelling Rear Suspension
Interior Upgrade (Wood)
Compass Mirror

I think that's fully loaded minus nav and the V8. Compared to her 530i with the only options being rain sensor, auto lights, and rear side airbags and for a cheaper price per month I'd say we got a good deal. Also we got snow tires at cost and boomerang installed. Picking it up tomorrow and I'll post up some pics when we get it.

Welcome to the X5 family....

Don't be too quick about jumping to 20" rims.

I find my 19" with the sport-package a little to hard as it is.

I'm sure the 20" would just augment this caracteristic to uncomfortable levels.

When I have my 17" snow's, the drive is still firm, but much more compliant.
Find it much more enjoyable to drive, especially for long distances.

I doubt we'd upgrade the rims for my moms car...what's she gonna do with 19's or 20's? lol Its such a nice truck i've been driving it all day. We have the 18in snow tires on the in pic it came with 18 all seasons but i havent seen what they look like yet cause they are wrapped up in the garage.

That steering wheel is thick and grippy and it feels nice......but its butt ugly. It's so ugly i've been trying to replace mine with a M3 wheel.

Actually Tom, my '04 sport wheel has no heat function. It's optional or may be standard on the '05 though.
