Going car shopping

Okay:

the time has come for my dad to trade in his Passat, and catch up with the rest of the family.

We are looking at:

5 series, 3 series
Porsche Boxster, carrera
Subaru (that new sedan thing...what do you guys think about it?)
Mini's

I get to test drive everything (yay 5 speed)
Im hoping my dad will want to test drive the Lam's and Ferarri's

What should we mainly look at? What do you all think. I want opinions

Just dont try to talk me into Lexus...lol J/K!!! Dont jump all over me!!LoL

He doesnt know what he wants. Essentially, its up to me what he gets because Im the real car person in the family, and whatever he gets Im cruising it on the weekends. He wants a really nice commuter car that I can drive too. I want him to get a Porsche....I could really see myself in that...LoL

screw that.. PORSCHE!
I almost bought a Boxster earlier this year... bailed out in the end, but man... even for a low end Porsche that thing was fun to drive. Totally new ball game when you move to Porsche.
