The 100 lbs. diff and the more aggresive gearing of the Z really manifests itself.
On the drag race, you can see that the C6 launches first.
Also Zrod, the owner of the C6 is a well known experienced drag racer.
Notice the nice smokey burnout prior to the drag.

This is his daily beater. He has a dedicated drag car which is an auto.
Spend some time at a strip and race an auto car.
Once you notice after a while you learn some tricks and finetuning your skill makes a noticable diff on your times, you'll realize just how uneducated that comment is.....

He has a dedicated drag car which is an auto,ok but how much power is it putting out.I bet the car does somewhere under 10 seconds 1/4 mile passes.......thats a different story.
My comment was towards him launching and doing a burnout in a automatic Vette that does 13+ second passes...

The new C6 does bottom 12's out of the box, not 13's. At least the few I have seen (video's) at the strip were hitting those numbers. And you are right, it takes a different amount of skill to launch a car with a stock converter, and no trans brake, etc.
