Hey guys, how about learning how to have real fun on snow and ice and take a course in winter driving where you can learn all the tricks in a safe environment. Big track, snow banks to keep you safe, perfectly groomed surface, just forget about any lower bodywork.

BMW CC Ottawa is providing this service and teaches young and old the propper skills to survive the nasty days of winter on Ottawa's roads.

When: Jan 29/05
Cost: members $125, non-members $150
Where: Ottodrome, Stittsville.

More information here: http://bmwccottawa.org/cgi-bin/yabb/...num=1102387764

btw aziz, how much is your car (and your life) worth to you that you would believe spending $50 bucks on tires for the winter is a good deal?

Klaus

"Normal" Bodywork like a 'is' front spoiler should not be a problem, although it did happen a couple of years ago that somebody ripped it off. It also depends on the snow/ snow bank conditions at that time (and the driver).

The worst cars for damaging their bodywork are Hondas. Their plastic bumpers crack very easy in the cold when they get into a snowbank.

We (MCO) do then also on the weekends a Winter Slush 'n Slide. This is a AutoX on ice and snow.
For that you'd better have an old beater though. Tons of fun and THE BEST learning experience you will ever have in learning how to handle your car.

That sounds like it would be a lot of fun, I wish I had a winter beater, my summer car is my winter car

I'm sure we could always set up a cheap winter autox...I could find some cones and I'm sure we could find an empty parking lot
