Yep...it was a 4.4L, up from the 4L from the E34.

I think he was suggesting the 545i as a next vehicle.

even if you're used to sports cars.. SUV's is one of those things... once you own one, you never go back to regular cars. For the price, I say go for it. BMW's are so common over there... especially 3-series... it's like having a Honda Civic here in North America. I don't know if you and your gf plan on having kids soon.. but the X5 would be good for that, and of course transporting all the new furniture you'll be buying and all that kind of stuff which comes with owning a house.

Well there ya go, that's another benefit... at least you can have proper sex in an X5.. unlike a sports car.

my dad's got a 2004 X5 4.4i and it frigan rocks!
The sound is amazing and it's damn fast for a truck.
I say get it.
You don't need the 4.8is.
If you want it to be as good as a 4.8, just get a chip, exhaust and a kit and that's still under the price of a 4.8is.

I drove the X5 for like 2 hours today.. all i can say is that i just love it

always loved the good SUV's, Range Rover's and X5's..

it's a second hand 2003 BMW X5 4.4i including the whole Sport Package and is chiptuned to 480Nm and 300Hp it does 0-60 in like under 7 seconds..

it has only 39.000 km on it.. on autotrader there are 4.4i with 50k's for like 50.000..
i can get the car for 39.000 so it saves me alot..

i'm still thinking about it.. and about the whole kids and stuff.. not in the first 2 years i think.. but what the hell.. the X5 looks bad ass
