cracked windshield on my 328i

On my way home from work today. I see an ugly crack about 20cm long from the top of my windshield - on the passenger side. PISSED me off! I just got this replaced this spring. Does anyone have a hook-up on a windshield for an E36? I know the BMW OEM ones are roughly $500. Maybe I should go through insurance.

Comments? Hook-ups?

Thanks,
Rico
