I have one used, its aftermarket, so it was replaced recently...I dont know if it will fit on your car because it came off a 91 318i...i'll sell it very cheap if it does....

Are you sure the gas tank is leaking? It is VERY uncommon for them to spring a leak unless you scrape the paint off and it rusts through (also very unlikely)
My bet would be on the filler hose inlet, or one of the orings on the top.

Well...ever since i bought the car after i fill up to the top then drive and then park it over night i find a puddle of gas right under the fuel filter (rear driver's side tire, just beside it).
It also seems to be leaking the most when the gas tank is topped up, other than that it doesn't leak when it's on empty.

Its not your gas tank leaking. Its a o-ring or one of the hoses.

Your fuel pump is also there, one of the hoses that comes in probably sprung a leak, and only leaks when full because there is added pressure. Next time your tank in near empty take a close look, and don't smoke cigs while doing it.

I took the car to PJC on Danforth for a blown diff gasket and the mech said it was def the gas tank...my tank looks rotten and it looks like somebody already used gas tank sealer on some parts of it...so i really do think it's the gas tank.

OK, well then replace the tank. Its just VERY rare for the tank to leak.... a previous owner must have bottomed out on it at some point and let it rust out.
