Failed Emissions Test

I took my 1987 325 for the emissions test in Toronto. My NO ppm was double the permitted and the CO % was very close. I'm gessing it's the catalytic converter (and so is Charlie - he oughta know).
I don't want to spend a bundle on OEM. Any recos at to aftermarket or used catalytic converters? Anyone?

(it's a stock 1987 325, 4 door, 2.7L).

Is there a limit to how many times you do the test and fail... before they just pass you?

Go to an exhaust shop and get a new cat, hell, you could even get a high flow.

Problem solved.

May not be that easy; i have seen cars pass E-test with hallow cats (so no cat at all) but also cars with perfect cats and fresh tune up fail because of a bad O2 sensor...This happened to one of my own E30's i had years ago, so he must identify the problem first, before looking for a solution...

just get a dirty emissions done. goes strait to the licence office anyways you don't even need to show anyone a print out or receipt

if that doesn't work put bleach in with the oil.. always does the trick

^^^ by the way don't try this at home. it's a joke!

WTF? Dude. Seriously. Bleach? To quote Jordan.. that is ghetto.

Get a cat, shit, I bought two for my 540 for under $200. Hottexhaust.com have lots, they're in the GTA.

Oh.. the guarenteed to pass stuff: it actually states on the back that your catalytic system must be in proper working order for the guarentee to be valid. Hehe. Its really just another injector cleaner.
