intrested in buying a E28 M5
There is a 1985 BMW m5 for sale on the auto trader right now that I am intrested in buying. Its a 5 speed with 236,000km. I have just talked to the salesman so far. Its blue on blue leather. 17'' aftermarket wheels (not sure what they are) also has stock rims/tires. He also mentioned that he has a stero system (no idea of what it consists of).
he is asking $6995 obo.
has anyone seen this car around, does it have a reputation? any info would be helpful.
thank you.
matt

Just checked it out. "European model" I know there wasn't a m5 in 85 in north america but not sure about europe. Looks like a fake m5 to me or maybe a e28 with m5 transplant and euro bumpers. If it has a m5 motor in it and everything looks to be in good condition then m5 or not i think thats a good deal. Good luck with it keep us posted.

M535i
Hey Lee.It's an M535i that was imported from Europe. It is NOT an M5.I also called on this car as well. This car was for sale 2 months ago in the trader and i hooked up with the owner prior to him trading it in.Its in fair shape. It has an factory Mtech body kit on it.There is slight damage to the rear bumper.Expensive to repair. The engine is Euro spec with 218 hp as opposed to the 182 hp NA model.I attached a pic of my car that looks exactly like it except fot the colour.I know where there is a Zinnabrot red M535i for sale if you are interested.Ted in T.O. aw, thats a shame that its not a real M5. I may go on friday with my dad to check it out. Ive got a 1985 528e in the body shop right now getting fresh paint and a little body work done. I had planned on trying to get a trade + a few thousand. but now knowing its not a real M i may not even bother any more. Or another option was to drop a 3.5 out of a E32 735i in.
I will keep you guys posted, thanks for all the info guys.
Ted Kalman - by any chance do you have any info about the car? and do you know how much he is asking?
Thanks!
- Matt

Hey Matt.
He is asking $6,999 CDN for the M535i car.I personally would not pay that for that car. There are some issues with the car in terms of bringing it back to life. The interior is rough and the engine bay needs work in detailing.I personally did not drive the car because the appearance tuned me off.I guess i am picky and trying to compare it to what i have.I paid a premium for my car but it is worth it.Send me an E-mail if you want to talk further about this car or mine or the other M535i that i know about which is in better shape. My e-mail addy is t_kalman_2000@yahoo.com.Cheers Ted in T.O.
