Official Group Buy for PEAKE Fault code/reset tools!

I am starting a new thread for this rather than continue the old one.

I have the pricing for a bulk purchase of 10 units of either the:
PEAKE R5/FCX II: Reads all fault codes and resets oil/check engine light
PEAKE R5/SRS: Reads all fault codes and resets airbag light

These prices are approx converted to CDN and include tax.
The prices can change according to the CDN/US dollar.
Keep in mind shipping and duty are not included in the price.

PEAKE R5/FCX II: $180 CDN ($149 US on Peake website)
PEAKE R5/SRS: $155 CDN ($129 US on Peake webiste)

This is a pretty good deal considering this price is only for 10 units.
On avg it is about $30 CDN off each tool. I have also heard BMW
charges $200 + just to reset the lights in your car. So basically 2
uses and it pays for itself.

We have a short time frame to get 10 units. I am putting an end date
of Friday Nov 19th, 2004. There is a few of days flexibility.

I will start a buying list in the next post. Please include your name and
what tools you want to buy.

hmmmm dont wanna crap on your thread, but whats the point on the group buy??

Its 149USD on Peaks website, with today's exchange rate 1.22cnd for 1usd, this makes it 181.79CND
You are asking 180

Doesnt make any sense

Please read my post closer.
The price includes CDN tax which is 15%.

In addition, when you ship one item and split the cost between 10 people
it is much cheaper than trying to ship one tool up on its own.

I would also not state in my post that you are going to save about
30 bucks a tool if you were not.

There are many reasons to offer a group buy like this.

Ok, before I commit, this will work on an E30? (1988 E30 325i/5-Speed Cabrio)

Also, isn't there such a tool that will allow programming of the ECU? Why are these split into TWO tools rather than one?

As far as reprogramming the ECU I think that is a different tool or concept.
Check out www.peakereseach.com for what exactly the tool does.
As far as sending commands to the ECU, I THINK these tools only send a reset command to remove the error code from the cars ecu and reset
the light on your dash.

Not sure why Peake made two tools. Maybe its a different chip or code setup which requires a new unit for the airbag. These tools are recommended in about 3 major service manuals for BMW so thats why I ended up going with them.

And I think your fine, it will work on your car. This is off their website:

Available for most BMWs built between 1987 and 2003

Unfortunately, we do not offer an R5/FCX for the following cars, however we do offer the basic oilservice and inspection light reset tool for the older BMWs on the list.

OK you stated that this includes tax, but no shipping/duty.
You see, there is NO DUTY on stuff shipped from USA. Thats why we got NAFTA. The thing that you pay extra when goods come is TAX(15%) and brokerage fee(if shipping company does paperwork)
So by duty you mean tax, so it will end up taxed twice.

Your info in this statement is very confusing and somewhat wrong.
I am also not sure what you are trying to point out.

The whole reason for me mentioning duty and shipping is to alert
buyers that these would be additional costs beyond the prices I have
given. I do not really want to get into to this before we get 10
units because it is something that does not need to be addressed at
this point.

i think it does, cause people will lose money.

ok see how it will look when its gonna get shipped from US to CANADA to 1 idividual.
you pay 149USD~181CND+shipping.
than when individual recieves it, he gonna have to pay 15tax on it and brokerage feee.

when idividual buys from this group buy
they pay 180+shipping, so when you reciever 10 units, you gonna have to pay 15% on 1800+brokerage fee.

it comes up to the same thing

Ok, this is the last time I am going to address this topic.
Read the first post again. Your still not looking at what I wrote close enough.

The 15% CDN tax applied to goods when they are imported into the country is ALREADY added into the price. It is 180 CDN WITH ALL TAXES. THE ONLY additional charges will be duty (if there is any) and shipping costs. No there will be no broker fees because it will be shipped USPS. The only time you are charged broker fees is if you ship via a courier and not by the standard mail system.

Your interpretation of NAFTA is also wrong. Yes you do pay duty depending on where the product was manufactured. So take the example of electronics, most of which are manufactured in Asian countries. If PEAKE in the USA who makes these tools were to outsource production of the tools to CHINA to lower labour costs and then in turn sells them to CANADA, people in this group buy would end up paying duty. The product has to be made in the USA or Mexico in order to fall under NAFTA.

I hope after all of this you are going to buy a tool LOL

USPS does charge brockerage fee, its 5 bucks.

Yeah I know about manufacturing thing, that exact how it should work. But I bought tonns of stuff from USA that were made all over the world, and never was charged duty. Only 15% tax
