it hasnt blown up yet, but im newb driver and usually ure paranoid about ure first car crapping out on you wen u least notice it,

Don't be paranoid just drive it, wait till it gives you a reason to be afraid fist, till then enjoy it. If it ever does die it'll be the time you should upgrade. The price won't change can garentee that. Not to mention if your wrench see's that in your face any repair bill will be linked to it wether it is or not.

Just to add to Jay's list....

If there is nothing wrong now that dosn't mean that there won't be in the future, so attempt to find any problems before they become real problems.

Check Compression in all the cylinders, a proper compression test can tell you if piston rings are worn, valve guides, bad head gasket...etc.

When you take the plugs out, check the condition of them...plugs can give a wealth of information about the condition of your engine, I can't list them all, but look in almost any shop manual and it will give you a listing of what the plugs should look like, and what they look like with different problems.

Check the exhaust for signs of smoke...blue=burning oil, white=burning coolant, black=running too rich.

Student or not high test is only 5 cent's more, the pinging is distroying your bottom end which is about 2500 more to replace each time. Take everlast's suggestion rodding the car when it' tuned for good gas will kill it, What's the point of the chip if you don't use it? Maybe you should sell it for something cheaper like a Honda or a Chevette.

Buy a Bentley manual! Don't waste your money on the Haynes.

Yes, put in higher octane gas for GOD'S SAKE if its chipped. There are SO MANY expensive parts you can buy OR spent an extra $4 at the pump and get premium gas. Sheesh!!

The bentley is great, but I haven't needed it yet, and its a lot more money (for a HS student on a budget) for detail that might not be used if you get what I mean.

Rodding the piss out of her means driving it like.. uh.. you probably do. For sure you'd better get high octane in there, but try driving without having the consumption needle go over 20. That's "gentle" driving. Your car will thank you. Rod it when its right to do so, not all the time.

Trust me, its cooler to drive slow with a bimmer than fly around like a monkey in a Hoyunda. Put "Low Rider" on the radio and cruise. =-D

Dude, an E30 is pretty damn safe, so long as your not a dumbass (uh-oh). But that's in any car. It ways 700 lbs more than a civic and is smaller externally for a reason, not to make it heavier, but safer/stiffer.

Thanks for the Strongbad reference. You are welcome to strongbadia. We can chill with the cheat and tire.

Don't forget "Dangeresque 1: Dangeresque too?"
