It makes it more clean because you don't have a long chrome letters flashing at you, or you could say it looks more even. If my badge says 325is on it and I got a M engine in it or a 3.5L lump I don't want a 325 badge on it

Ah, no big deal, I just don't care what others think and if they are in to bimmers they would get a good idea as to whats under the hood by the exhust note.
