E30 Reigers DON'T FIT!

Contrare to what people say, the plastic reiger bumpers do not fit.

I was lucky enough to snag a rear E30 reiger bumper from Evolution Racing. It was plastic and I leant it to eurostyle for a week so he could make a fibre glass mold out of it. Took it to the body shop this morning and boy did it not fit.

The bumpers fender connection points near each wheel well went about 1.5" to far, and where the bumper meets the frame of the vehicle under the tail lenses, there was a significantly large gap in between the bumper and the body line.

I'm going to end up having to settle for a non perfect fit but its better than anything else out there. Personally, I think most other M-Tech kits are ugly and I got rid of my E36 M3 bumper because it stuck out to much

So you E30 people, please beware when purchasing anything plastic from Reiger, if you can bare to wait the 2-3 month ordering time!

I'll let you guys know how the bumper installation turns out.

well i guess that would explain it then..

however i was told it would fit an 87' all you needed was the 88-91 rebar which i installed.

My body guy will just cut the bumper down an inch and it should look okay, but not perfect.

re: the fitment...

i emailed the ppl at lowen and asked whether they would fit the older style bumpers and they said that it would fit 'all' e30's.

now that i hear this...i am seconding guessing their email....

maty...please tell us how the install turns out...i don't want to spend the $$ if the kit doesn't fit in the first place....pics would be great! thanks in advance

No problem,

However, I am sure the body shop (tip top collision) should be able to do a good job of the install

Sounds like they want to make a sale! Always research deep before you buy stuff 'cause it will save you a big headache down the road! Good luck to both of you guys!

I'm not going to say I told you so. Oops! I just did. Not all E30s were created equal. The rear fenders on the Pre 88s sits higher than 88 & up. Anyways I'm sure your body shop will be able to modify it so the Reiger fits properly. GOOD LUCK!

That sucks. I have an 86 325es and I was considering the Rieger GTS Kit. The main reason was because it took place of my current diving board bumpers

I guess I'll just go with the other kit I liked, but it was more money.

Mat is not talking about the GTS kit, so you can still go ahead with that!!! From what i know it should fit just right on your car. And the GTS is fiberglass, so its much easier to work with...

The one I am talking about is on the www.rieger-tuning.de

It is the bumper that is on the ugly turquoise E30. I'm not sure of the name of the bumper but it is very close to the look of the GTS.

If it was fibre glass it would have been easier to work with but then again there are other upsides to having a nice plastic bumper

Ahhh so the GTS Kit does fit better! Its really not a bad price either.

Price is HIGH, just the front and rear are $1400 canadian plus tax!!! and there is ONE mounth waiting period!!!
