I bought it last year in Chicago and used it total 7 times. I now have a Valentine One detector which cost me $680.00!!!!

This is complete with everything.... cord, visor clip, suction cups, velcro, warranty (built in Mississauga) card, manual, box and packaging.

Cost? $150.00 firm.

How do you guys mount radar detector, if it's illegal ? Do you have a special component that makes you undetectable ?

You can mount them anywhere out of view, but alot of the newer ones come with "shadow tech" that makes your detector invisible from the cops. They just simply dont detect that you have one.

Last year, I drove down to NOPI and brought a wad of money with me incase I saw something worth buying.... nothing turned my crank except from the odd Ho.... so on the way back I decided to stop off in Cincinnati and see what all the hype about the V1's are all about. I bought one (even though I had 3 Bell's at home).... I drove to the nearest postal station and shipped the box, instuctions, cord, clip to my house and smuggled the actual detector across the boarder.

How does it compare? Well, I didn't exactly have both side-by side for comparison purposes, but the Valentine does tell you where and how many signals are out there..... that's a cool feature. It does have fewer false alarms too, but I still don't think those few feature are worth the $680 I spent on it.

I'm willing to bet that everyone that works at 2422 Dunwin Drive in Mississauga has one even though they shouldn't. Isn't it ridiculous that these things are assembled in our own backyards, yet are considered illegal??

In the newest Car and Driver they do a radar detector test and the V1 destroys everything. They may have the story online at www.caranddriver.com too.

I cant right now... my speed is mechanically limited to 140kph due to the magnificent build quality of my green beast a.k.a. the grand am!!
