There are enless reasons why a car runs 1 sec slower on the quarter than it's best, some of them aren't even the drivers fault. Maybe it was the first time he ran the car hard. Maybe he missed a shift, bad launch, bad track conditions, bad weather, the run was for $hit and giggles so he shortshifted, etc.
We all know a properly driven M3 will average a 13.5.
Damn, my worst time at Cayuga was a 14.2!
