someone start posting enzo/CGT times please.. im too lazy right now...
maybe the CGT won around a track, but in general, to get to its top speed, the enzo beats it.. from start to finish... theres many other factors involved when taking the time it takes to get around a track...
also enzo tops out @ what.. 215 mph? CGT? 203? if im not mistaken..
whatever the case.. both great cars.

I'd like to know the answer to this question too. I'm not understanding why people like the SLR so much. I think cuz it is so hyped up as being a supercar that people must learn to love it cuz it is rare and powerful.

Gallardo is beautiful. SLR is shit!! Plain and simple.

i have a dutch car-magazine that tested the SLR, the Enzo and the Carrera GT at the Nardo circuit... (oval circuit).. and the Enzo was much faster then the rest..

but when it turned on a normal twisty circuit the Porsche wins it...
Ferrari said that it just wasn't specified for the circuit at that moment...

Enzo: 650 hp.. 0-60 in 3.3 seconds.. and 0-100mph in 6.6 seconds..
the Carrera GT has 612 hp.. 0-60 in 3.8 seconds..

so the Enzo is just faster.. but hell.. i'll take the Enzo over any car..

A full second faster where?
The enzo has a faster 1/4 miles time (not by much) and if the 1/4 never ended, the ferari's V12 would pull more and more from the CGT. Christ theres SO many mags that tested this, pick up ONE and read it!

tiement has the the right times 0-60 the cgt is slower and in the 1/4mile the cgt is slower by 0.2 seconds or something like that.
around the n'ring..the porsche set the fastest time for a street car with 7minutes and 12seconds or something like that...average speed 164km/h
ferrari will not donate a car to get a time for some reason.

Successful record set up on the North Circuit
Carrera GT fastest car on Nürburgring
Stuttgart. The Carrera GT is the fastest car to lap the Nürburgring North Circuit. With the clock showing 7’32.44 minutes, Horst von Saurma, Chief Editor of the German specialist magazine “sport auto,” achieved a new record for road-approved vehicles, at the wheel of the 612 HP strong Porsche. He completed the 22.6 km long round in the Eifel at an average speed of 164 km/h.

"It was really touch and go. The circuit was dirty in some sectors, which didn’t make it any easier,” beamed Horst von Saurma with glee, after his record round.

For ten years the magazine has been awarding an (unofficial) challenge cup to the driver who drives the fastest round on the Nürburgring using a road-approved car. Thus the race for the best time round the circuit has become a prestigious affair, as Nürburgring is still the best and most honest test of the quality of a vehicle chassis, motor performance, aerodynamics and naturally of tires. Since 1995, times have gradually improved from 7’52 minutes to the current 7’32.44 minutes. Wolfgang Dürheimer, Member of Porsche’s Management Board responsible for Research and Development: “The time achieved by Horst von Saurma is excellent and demonstrates the potential of our car. Until recently such times could exclusively be clocked up with pure racing prototypes.”

The journalist von Saurma clocked up the fastest round in the context of a so-called “super test,” which the magazine executes regularly. Top times on the Nürburgring, always driven by the same tester, are among the criteria. Wolfgang Dürheimer: “It is precisely for this reason that the 7’32.44 minutes are so easy for us to put in to context and are thus valuable.”
