what program are you using to get full albums?

Kazaa lite - Too many fakes
Ares - Not much selection
Limewire - Too many fakes
Any torrent program - Suprnova is down
Any Newsgroup program - Not much selection

Guys, I need to find some online backups of CDs I already own such as the new Guns N Roses greatest Hits CD, New Reality by Frankie Knuckles, the new beastie boys CD, and New York: A Mix Odyssey by Armand Van Helden

help a guy back up his collection

IRC is the way to go. Once you find a couple good channels, you can get really hooked up.

This guy, Jonezin^, was featured in Rolling Stone. He served more than 400gigs of mp3s. Yes, 400 gigs. The amazing part of it was, he owned ALL the music. I remember downloading a Megadeth cd off him. He was missing song 7. So I sent him a message to let him know it was missing. He ripped the song and put it up to be downloaded within the hour.

The authorities couldn't come after him because he was just backing up his cd collection (must be fawking huge) and whoever downloaded off him was doing so against his permission. Sounds like a crock, but it was in the article.

Anyhow, irc.undernet.org #mp3passion is probably the biggest irc channel with music that I know of. Jonezin^ used to frequent #mp3_freaks on dalnet, but dalnet was down for two years due to constant DOS attacks.

I know no one asked me for my opinion but I just have to say this. Guys, if you like the album, go buy it. I refuse to pay full price for some lazy shit who made one gem and padded the CD with garbage so he could charge for a record. That's like making a porno with only one fuk scene and the rest be "plot". I'll download that. But if you really like the artist's work that much, will you really hurt that badly if you go and fork over the $? Isn't it worth it?

That's just me though.

i agree with you Big D... although Im broke ass... however, if you do own the cd and want to be able to play it on the computer without having to put a cd in, mp3s are the way to go and if you dont have the time or the computer experience to rip your own tracks off the cd it can be fairly time consuming..

on further note, I beleive its perfectly legal to download mp3's off the net as long as you have the CD at home...

WIN MX is okay.
