How do you take pictures like this ?

You need a rig, you make a bracket that ataches to the car and put the camera on it, its like a tripod that ataches to the car.

And then a remote, or set the timer on your cam and get going before it takes the pic.

Not a cheap set up if you want it done properly.

you don't drive the car, you just push the car, its enough to create that effect and makes less vibrations so the shot is even more clear

And then just take it at a really slow shutterspeed right? I've always wondered what the car rigs looked like, happen to have any pics of some? cuase i've always been reading about them and I want to see how complicated they are

yup, you use long exposure. and sorry i got no rig pics. Althought the pics look really nice I never had an interest in making a rig.

ive seen pics where they dont use a rig as well.. like a full front shot in action while its turning like that

This is what I've heard ... it's actually taken at low speed, like 20kmh, the photographer sits in the trunk of the car in front, and the other car follows it, pics taken at slow shutter speed. Key is both cars have to be travelling at the same speed.

They still have the rig, btu its setup to show the whole car, and then they photoshop the parts of the rig that are visible... You can trust me on this one, you cannot do that if you were sitting in trunk of an other car, because you have to be going at the exact speed, 0.1 of a km/h would make it a blur, and i've seen night shots, which is impossible to do the way WASSABI described it

Yes, I'm sure it's more complicated than how I described.

According to the owner of this car, these pics were taken at less than 1 MPH, and I remember him saying that the photographer sat in another car's trunk.

how can you sit in the trunk and take that shot ? I mean, both cars have to be going the exact same speed and turning at the exact same angles.

DevilOnWheelz - how would they photoshop parts of the rig out if the entire background was in motion? Like you would have to take a pic of the car not moving and then take a pic with the rig on the car. but then the car is in motion so the pic without the rig would be off.. (Sorry if what im saying sounds a bit confusing)

Anyways, heres my attempt with a motion shot using the parts I had available. Its not as complex as what i want to take, but i think im getting there
