transaxle

I was wondering if there is anyplace to buy a transaxle, I was thinking off useing a BMW v8 and wanted to keep a more even front to back balance and use s transaxle.
I though first about the Porsche trans but the gear selector would be in the back of the car if used for a front engine setup. I was thinking about the Corvette transaxle, but thatt may only be on the new C6 body, I am not sure. Does anyone know where I could pick one up?? I understand that there would be some modification required to make it work and I wll get to that later.

This is an idea if no one buys the darn thing.

.............

Waste of time and effort in my opinion, and WAY to much modifications to the rear of the car to justify moving 100lbs back (the stock tranny sits pretty damn near the middle of the car)

the stock m60 6 speed weighs only 100lbs?
Also it was not only for the weight, which would be better in any case with front engine rear trans, but for a highly effective and efficient single turbo system. I am not setting it up as a drag car but a track and daily driver. I want to use a single turbo at about 18 psi so I can have quick spooling and then run the turbo at low capacity for normal driving and have like a full throttle override of the wasegate and allow for max psi, like say 22 psi, I have not really worked out all that quite yet but I was wanting to get a start from the transaxle.

Well, I'm not quite sure about how much it weighs but the benefits would be negligable. As for the turbo install, why do you need a transaxle with it? Please, don't try to reinvent the wheel, or rediscover america, because people have had copious amounts of power going through the stock tranny without problems (manual of course).
