PLEASE help me find an E30 battery
I've called Canadian Tire, Part Source and Automotive Warehouse, all say that they don't carry a battery for my car. Do they have something that will work but just don't have it listed? Anybody else here have to get a batery for an '88 325i before without going through the stealer? What kind?? Thanks for any help. -BJ

Oh my god, get the one that has the posts in the correct position and side and you are fine. It doesn't matter if it's "for your car"

^^exactly...12V and then just choose the cranking amps you want, and the reserve power you want...simple as that. As long as the posts are in the right position, and its 12V it dosn't matter what kind of battery it is.

I find that hard to believe.....someone at Canadian Tire is full of shit. Probably just someone didn't know what a BMW was, they tend to hire people with no car experience at all.
Ive worked at CT for the last 3 yrs in auto (not proud of it, but it's a job and I get discounts on parts) and I know for a fact they have a battery for our e30 bimmers there. I just bought one for my 84 318i and my bro has the same one in his 88 325i. I'll post the part number later.....

Sweet thanks e30jones that would be great. I know it's not rocket science finding a battery but I just want to buy it and be set. Not have to return it cause the posts aren't right or something stupid. Figured I'd just ask.

ok...i'm gonna have to admit that i'm wrong, i thought for sure they had a listing for a battery on the computer at CTC but apparently they don't. In my 84 318i I have a 10-4206 (i think, i'm about 300 k's north of my car right now) motomaster 72 (green label) but the CCA might be a bit low. My brother has a 10-3472 motomaster 72 battery in his 88 325i and it should work for you no prob, its universal, so it has both top and side posts. Make sure you hang onto your warranty, b/c they're tight about that usually.

Motomaster parts do not belong in a BMW.
Go Interstate... ... I believe it's #76 for e30's?.. not positive. Do a search on Roadfly.org. it's all listed on there.
