M Coupe vs 350Z

Hi all,
it's me again. Still can't truly decide on an M Coupe yet. Just curious, has anyone driven the 350Z and compared it to the M Coupe? The 2003 Zs prices are quite similar to M Coupes these days.
Thoughts.

Thanks!

test drive both and see what you think. I prefer the M Coupe instead of the 350Z much more rare

I've test driven a Z and I'd love one but it's no M coupe as far as character is concerned. It may exceed the bimmers HP but doesn't feel as quick. Either way you can't lose but I'd get the MC.

m coupe by a long shot

i too debated this about year and a half ago. was driving an m3 and was looking for something new. test drove the 350 a few times. it felt ok, but different then any bimmer i had ever driven. handled well, but something was missing...and it wasn't only the trunk space. after driving my first m coupe i decide that it was not only faster, but more unique (as there are tons of Z's in toronto).

being a bimmer fan i felt at home with my first coupe, and also had the ability to put hockey equipment in the back....not that i'm selling it's practicality.

2 weeks ago a full-on shootout. raced a 350Z late at night...fast. it pulled hard, in first, second and third. we got going fairly quick(ran out of rev's in third) and at the end of the day it's the driver who will make the car fast or slow. if you are looking for performance than it's a tough one(for an s52 coupe). if you're looking for style, build quality and smooth power delivery go for the coupe. if you're going for what's new and cool(and has xenons) go for the Z.

after i raced the guy in the Z he told me he had blown his 3rd gear synchro and that he'd had a ton of stuff go wrong.

i didnt have hardly any problems with my coupe other than the usual list of stuff that makes it quirky, albeit easily fixable.

hope this helps.

mark

p.s. i do not condone street racing as it is illegal.

Well Duh???? The M Coupe of course

My buddy has a 350Z, nice car, looks great, IMO better interior
But my choice still would be the M coupe thou

Both of us wanted to see who was faster. So we lined it up.
We did 3 runs up to 140/150 km/hr.
Runs:
1)M3
2)350Z
3) too close...so we called it a tie

I was surprized that the 350Z was that slow. It claims it has about 270hp??? But when we raced it seemed more like 240hp
