Me = BMW Deprived...

Yes,
So my dad just told me that I'm not allowed to drive the Bimmer around town anymore. I can only use it for attending my extra cirricular lesson which is located less than 10kms from my house, to and back once a week.
Other than that I'm not allowed to drive it anymore. Not even in the summer for cruising around or to go chill with my friends. It's killing me.
The reason why I nor the other family members can't really drive it is because the lease is up in August.
right now it's just under 88100kms and the limit is 90,000kms.
My dad wants no one to drive it because if we're just under the 90k mark by august then it's time for inspection/servicing which will cost $$ and my dad wants to save up. He won't even allow us to hit the 89k mark. Must stay below that!
Crap this sucks, now I'll have to hitch rides off ppl. or drive the other car when my parents aren't using it (which will be used most of the time in their case!)

Fear of future problems, Gamite.

Esp. after how I always use the M mode often and my fake version of heel toe downshifts

Doesn't work that way.

The main computer actually controls mileage; not any part of the odometer / main display itself.

In order to stop registering mileage, you either have to (A) disconnect the entire computer, which causes the car not to run, or (B) disconnect the wiring to the rear diff, which is where the speed sensor is.

Re:

You can always find those people that "reset" the milage that is recorded by the computer.. or have them set it down to 85km.. just an idea hehheh

Not on the OBD-II cars....

It *may* have been easier on the OBD-I cars, but for the OBD-II cars, generally only the dealer has the equipment to affect mileage at any point in time.

It *is* possible to swap computers out, possibly for one with less mileage, but it also won't pass the VIN test. Dealer will likely check that out, and scrub the deal on that alone.
