where did you get the door panel inserts.. one of mine is all inflated... and i just want to get one

The inserst are the originals.
Yea, that's right. I took the perfectly good OEM inserts and shreaded the vinyl off of them so I could gel coat and paint them. Yea, I'm an idiot for trying it but in the end, it was well worth it.

whats the gel coat?

and did you remove the insert to paint them? or just tape?

I had to remove the inserts in order to remove the vinyl covering. The panels had to be prepped which took like 4 hours, then gel coated. Gel coat is what they use as a releasing agent for fiberglass molds. It is a very thick base primer that can be sprayed. It has the consistancy of plaster. You can't just paint over the vinyl, it would look like crap.

it wasnt an M5 badge, but an M badge, and yes, neons in a BMW, is ricier IMO... Its like a moving carnival.. TO each their own tho, i repsect him for doing the work himself...

its not like its a crap job under the car.. he actully took the time to make it look nice..i consider a ricer a bad atempt to make a car look nice, and made it worse then stock

That has to be one of the most original things i have seen in a long time. It looks great and I think its cool.

Great job, And I can not wait to see it this summer. BTW. the pod for the computer monitor just looks out of this world. And that is the way is has to be for a talking car....right
