FS: Western Digital 80gig HD x 2

I have two brand new WD Caviar 80gig HD pulled from brand new Dells. These were tested and then pulled from brand new computers from Dell replaced with bigger drives. They both have manufactured dates of March 2004. I'm not sure how long warranty is but I think its 3 years. Will sell both for
$180.00 OBO

these have 8meg buffer and run at 7200rpm

The warranty on those drives is as long as the warranty on the system they came with. The warranty cannot be used through Western Digital itself, only through Dell.

not true... WD gives independant warranty's as well, even on OEM HD's... and yes WD gives 3 years warranty now.

The defunct dreive that I have sitting beside me here says otherwise. I purchased this 120GB drive and it has gone bad. It was removed from a dell system. WD will not RMA for me. They told me go to back to dell.

You are right when you say WD gives 3 year warranty on OEM drive, unless an OEM manufacturer makes other arragements with said distributor.

i've returned WD drives from IBM PC's without any question. I just never called first... just mailed it in. Usually get back a bigger drive too.
